Basically you have a virus which is sending spam emails to email addresses which no longer exist.

Checking sent items is not a definitive way of seeing if you sent any emails as the virus probably just deletes them from that folder.

Change your hotmail password, scan your computer, etc. Usual procedure.

Some of these scam type viruses don't allow you to download any new programs (basically so you can't get rid of it) that will scan you computer. I'm sure you probably already have some type of Anti-virus program, but if you don't, make sure to download Microsoft Essentials.

I've never had a problem, and the only thing I have ever used is Microsoft Essentials. Assuming you're using Microsoft as your operating system, that is.

P.S. I'm just adding to Daskin's remark about scanning the computer; usual procedure.

I did a little research on this virus, it's only come down to MSN Hotmail (obviously) users. Each person has experienced the automated bot virus in their e-mail. Most people have just said to change the password and do that shit.

I would honestly prefer you to just pick up a new e-mail system; like Gmail or Yahoo. I've been with Gmail for about a year now and haven't had one thing go wrong as in a virus, spam, or any other type of thing that would infect my computer/e-mail.

Daskin hit it right on the head.

He is learning slowly.

Malware Byte's Anti-Malware + Spybot Search and Destroy + Micrsoft Security Essentials. Run them all once a week and you should be fine :)

Sure, ignore the guy with a degree and Microsoft certifications.

Ignore that tard above me. Spybot hasn't actively updated into a lot of areas that Malware Byte's solution has. Spybot has however maintained an incredible ability to find any and all tracking cookies ever made.
